Chandigarh, December 15: The Aam Aadmi Party on Friday accused Capt. Amarinder Singh led Congress govt. for the financial mess in Punjab and pushing the state into emergency like situation. In a press statement, AAP state co-president and MLA Sunam Aman Arora said that Capt. Amarinder Singh during election speeches promised to revive the state economy by finding new avenues but even after 10 months of govt. formation in state he has not even initiated the process. He said that due to the negligence of Capt., state economy has gone from bad to worst and common people are bearing the burnt.
Arora said that due the pathetic condition of state economy, the govt. school children are not provided books and uniforms and they are forced to go to schools without woolen clothes. Capt. before elections promised to pay old aged people, widows and physically challenged people 2500 per month as pension but now have not paid the money for 6 months. The employees of government departments are waiting for their salaries for many months and the employee unions are planning to protest against the govt.
AAP leader said that shockingly the government in its recent letter has asked the government department heads to stall the new projects related to next financial year. The government has also not paid the wages of suvidha centre employees and the centres are about to shut.
Arora said that previous Akali-BJP govt. in state had looted Punjab to the extent that people will never forgive them but Capt. has made mockery of the pitiable condition of the people by luring them with false promises. He said that Capt. can’t run away from his responsibilities by just criticizing the previous government but has to find out solution for the present problem. He said that present Congress government has turned to be the worst and dishonest governments of all the times as it has played with the emotions of farmers, farm labors and other sections of the society.
Arora demanded that Capt. Amarinder Singh must sincerely work for the betterment of the state and find out new avenues of state income. He said that the government must provide jobs to the youth of state as promised before the elections. AAP leader said that the party will continue to raise the voice of people till the time govt. doesn’t fulfill its promises.
