Chandigarh, December 12: The Punjab Vigilance Bureau had registered a case against Sub-Divisional Officer (SDO) Kamikar Singh of Irrigation Department posted at Dam wing Patiala for amassing huge wealth than the disclosed sources of his income.
Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said that Bureau had registered an inquiry against accused SDO in 2016 and found that he and his family members had spent Rs. 2.38 crores on various moveable and immoveable properties including other expenditures.
The spokesperson said the VB team has chosen specific check period which the accused was holding responsible postings. The investigations revealed that the accused SDO and his family had amassed wealth to the tune of Rs. 2.38 crores then the known sources of their income which amounts to 389.83% than the actual income, he said.
The spokesperson said a case had been registered against the accused SDO and his family members includes wife Jaswant Kaur, son Shubhdeep Deol and daughter Rajan Deol under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station SAS Nagar.
