Amritsar: The Sehajdhari Sikh Party flayed the decision of the SGPC to ban the photography or videography in the premises of Darbar Sahib Harmandir Sahib at Amritsar.
Dr Paramjeet Singh Ranu National Chief of the Sehajdhari Sikh Party stated in a press statement that this is a well planned move initiated by the RSS through the SGPC to lower down the rate of publicity and love of the visitors/pilgrims for the precious Sikh Shrine which is a world famous monument.
The SGPC had always followed the dictates of RSS and has barred lakhs of Sehajdhari Sikhs to vote in Gurdwara elections by amending the Sikh Gurdwara Act in the recent past. Even the SGPC does not allow sehajdharis or females to do religious rituals like kirtan in the premises of Darbar Sahib.
These type of harsh and abrupt senseless dictatorial decissions of the SGPC without application of mind are ruining the Sikh religion badly. This decission of barring photography has hurt the sentiments of the Sikh sangat sitting Abroad as they come to India and donate hefty amounts for the welfare of religion and temples and create memories by clicking pictures in the Darbar primeses with their families.
The Sehajdhari Sikh Party has requested Sh. Akal Takht Jathedar though he too is the employ and governed under the SGPC by SGA 1925 to take suomotto and direct the SGPC to withdraw this decission. Dr.Ranu has also made a request to the SAD supremo Sukhbir Singh Badal to intervene into this issue immediately.
