Punjab & Haryana HC condoles the demise of Justice R.S. Mongia

Chandigarh, 6 September(Wishav Warta): The Punjab and Haryana High Court today convened a Full Court Reference to condole the sad demise of noted jurist and legal luminary Justice Ravinder Singh Mongia, former Chief Justice, Gauhati High Court and former Judge of Punjab and Haryana High Court. All the judges of High Court took part in this full court reference.

While sharing the grief with the family of late Justice R. S. Mongia, the Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice Shiavax Jal Vazifdar said that Mongia was a symbol of simplicity, dedication and commitment and was also known for his high professional caliber. He described the sad demise of Mongia as a huge loss to the legal fraternity as he was a great source of inspiration for the young professionals of the legal field. Chief Justice further said that the legal fraternity has lost a great human being and legal luminary, who would also be remembered for his legal acumen, sagacity, courtesy and firmness. Justice Mongia is survived by wife and two daughters.

The other dignitaries, who paid tributes to the departed soul included Mr. Satya Pal Jain, Additional Solicitor General of India, Mrs. Anu Chatrath Additional Advocate General, Punjab on behalf of Mr. Atul Nanda, Advocate General Punjab, Mr. Baldev Raj Mahajan, Advocate General, Haryana, Mr. Jai Vir Yadav, Chairman, Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and Dr. Anmol Rattan Sidhu, President, Punjab and Haryana High Court Bar Association.

The retired judges of Punjab and Haryana High Court and members of the Bar Council of Punjab and Haryana and Bar Association of High Court were also present in condolence meeting.
