Jalandhar, December 12: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today solicited fulsome support and cooperation from the leading educational institutions and other organizations for making the upcoming SPARK-2017 Mela a huge success.
In a clarion appeal to the leading institutes, the Deputy Commissioner said that this Mela was totally aimed at giving a new direction to the youth of the district adding that the industrialists, educational institutes and others must come forward for supporting this venture. He said that this was totally a noble cause with an objective to groom the students especially those studying in matric for choosing their career. Sharma said that the state government or the district administration could never undertake such a big venture without active support and cooperation of the private individuals.
The Deputy Commissioner said that the monitory support extended by the private individuals for this noble venture being organized by District Relief Fund Society and Red Cross Society would be totally exempted from the Income Tax. Sharma appealed the private individuals to become a part of this mass movement to transform the destiny of our youth by contributing generously. He said that the active participation of people in this noble initiative would further boost the morale of the students and the administration to carry forward this message.
On the occasion, on behalf of the management of GNA University, VK Janjua handed over a cheque of Rs 2 lakh to the Deputy Commissioner for this ensuing venture.
