Jalandhar, January 8: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that strenuous efforts would be made to streamline funds for Association for Social Health in India (AASHI) to ensure well being of women in the district.
Presiding over a meeting to review the working of AASHI here today at his office, the Deputy Commissioner said that the organization that was working under the aegis of Swadhar Grah Scheme has rendered self less service to the society. He said that since long the organization has been dedicatedly working for the well being of needy ladies in the district. Sharma said that the district administration was duty-bound to ensure that this organization was able to operate more efficaciously.
For this, the Deputy Commissioner said that he would personally take up this matter with the state government to ensure smooth flow of funds for ensuring that this organization was able to render services in far more better manner. Recalling the stupendous services rendered by AASHI in welfare of the needy ladies, Sharma asked the office bearers of the organization to work far more zealously for the well being of the women. Assuring fulsome support and cooperation to the organization for this noble cause, he said that the entire district administration would extend a helping hand to the organization for this noble cause.
Earlier taking part in deliberations District Program Officer Amarjeet Singh Bhullar, Honorary Secretary of AASHI Parminder Berry and Ranjana Bansal apprised the Deputy Commissioner about the functioning of the organization. They informed Sharma that the organization has been zealously working for the welfare of needy ladies and girls from last more than two decades.
