New Delhi, 21 August(Wishav Warta): Home minister Rajnath Singh said on Monday that there will be a solution to the Doklam issue “very soon” because India wants “peace, not any confrontation”. “There will be a solution of Doklam issue very soon…I want to tell all the neighbours that India wants peace, not any confrontation”, said Singh speaking at an event organised by the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP).
“I’m confident that China, on its part, will make a positive move and a resolution (to the dispute) will be found,” added Rajnath. The Union minister further said that “in life, one can change friends, but one can’t change neighbours” and therefore good relations with neighbours is very important. “When PM Narendra Modi called all the neighbours for his swearing in ceremony, it was not just to shake hands. It was to have a healthy relationship with all the neighbours,” said Rajnath. The minister was referring to the India-China border standoff that began June 16 when Chinese troops violated the border into Doklam.
