Mumbai, 1 September(Wishav Warta): On Friday, Sensex and Nifty overcame initial tepid trend to end on a positive note. The 30-share BSE Sensex gained 161.74 points to close on 31,892.23 while the 50-share NSE Nifty went up by 56.50 points to close on 9,974.40
The markets this week saw a lot of volatility as the Sensex tumbled more than 350 points after global cues weakened on the back of launch of missile by North Korea. However, the equities soon recovered as on Wednesday it gained above 200 points.
On Friday, the market successfully saw off another meltdown scare after government data showed that India’s GDP (Gross Domestic Product) has slowed down to a 3-year low in first quarter of 2017.
