School Murder: SC issues notice to Centre, Haryana govt, others

New Delhi, 11 September(Wishav Warta): The Supreme Court on Monday sought replies from the Centre, Haryana and others on a petition filed by a father seeking a CBI probe into the murder of his eight-year-old son at Ryan International School in Gurgaon.

The petition filed on Monday has also asked for comprehensive guidelines for all schools so that such an incident was not repeated. The petition pertained to safety and security of all school students, the court said, giving the Centre, CBI, Haryana government and CBSE three weeks to respond.

The father of the Class 2 boy, who was found with his throat slit outside a school toilet on September 8, has also requested a national tribunal to look into such cases across the country. There is growing concern over the spurt in incidents of students facing sexual violence in schools at the hands of seniors, teachers, bus staff or peons.

The father sought a CBI probe, saying police failed to unearth the conspiracy behind the “cold-blooded murder”.

A 42-year-old school bus conductor was arrested after publicly confessing to killing the boy, who he had allegedly tried to abuse sexually. But the parents think there is more to the murder.
