Jaipur, 13 September(Wishav Warta): The 19-year-old blackbuck poaching case against actors Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Sonali Bendre, Tabu and Neelam, entered into the final phase of the trial as prosecution began arguments on Wednesday.
In the case, Salman Khan has been charged with hunting two black bucks at Kankani village on the intervening night of October 1-2, 1998. The other actors and a local resident Dushyant Singh are charged with instigating Khan to poach the animals.
Three cases of poaching and one under the Arms Act, was registered against Khan in Jodhpur in 1998. He was shooting for the Hindi film–Hum Saath Saath Hain–when the incident took place.
The actor has been acquitted in the illegal arms case by trial courts. The prosecution has appealed against the acquittals. The appeals against the poaching case is pending in the Supreme Court now.
