Jalandhar, 22 September(Wishav Warta): Underscoring the need for hygienically cooked food with full nutrient value to the students under the Mid Day Meal Scheme, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that no compromise would be made in quality of food served to the students under this scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner, who checked the quality of food during an inspection in Government Senior Secondary School, said that proper implementation of this scheme along with ensuring proper quality and quantity of the food served to the students was the top priority of the district administration. Sharma reviewed the position of food grains received, utilized and balances lying in stock of the school. He also tasted the food to check the quality of meal served to the students under the scheme.
The Deputy Commissioner also visited the kitchens and place of where the food was served the students and also checked the utensils in which the food was prepared. Sharma also had detailed interaction with the staff preparing the food. Sharma asked the staff preparing the food to be extra vigilant so that the food was cooked and served in a hygienic environment to the students.
Later on having an interaction with the students of Medical and Non-medical streams in the school, the Deputy Commissioner shared his personal experiences of study in Punjab Engineering College. He also asked the students to work hard for achieving success in their career. Sharma also had discussions about the future avenues for the students of these streams.
