Chandigarh: In order to increase the participation of voters in democracy, the ‘National Voter Day’ was today celebrated at the Office of Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman said that on the occasion, Officers and employees celebrated the ‘National Voter Day’. He said that the employees pledged to follow the democratic traditions and ensure holding of an independent, fair and peaceful election, without any fear of religion, class, caste, community, language or any other greed.
The spokesperson also said that badges related to National Voters Day were also distributed amongst the employees. Beside this, the message sent by Chief Election Commissioner, O.P. Rawat was also read out to the staff.
