Jalandhar, December 21- With a promise to meet again, fourth edition of SPARK- career guidance mela concluded after disseminating the message of hard work, dedication and integrity to more than 30,000 students, who participated in this mega event, for achieving success in the varied fields.
On the concluding day of the fest, MLA from Jalandhar (West) assembly segment Sushil Kumar Rinku presided over the function. In his address, the MLA said that this unique initiative of the district administration would go a long way in shaping the destiny of the students of Jalandhar. Complementing the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma for this mega event, he said that this would give much needed impetus to the career of the students especially from the rural background. Rinku said that he was sure that SPARK Mela would give a major push to the students for choosing their right career.
The MLA said that due to innocence, the students basically from the rural background sometime choose wrong careers due to which they have to suffer throughout the life. However, he said that such efforts would really go a long way in grooming their careers in the right direction. Rinku said that district administration has done a yeoman job by organizing such a mega event for this noble cause.
Earlier, in his address Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma asked the students to formulate their time schedule to ensure optimum utilization of time during their formative years. He also underscored the need for choosing their career wisely in accordance with the prevalent trends so that they could be benefitted from it. Sharma also asked them to keep themselves updated on the current affairs, which would enhance their knowledge besides widening their perspective.
The Deputy Commissioner reiterated that the basic idea behind organizing this event was groom the future of the students. He said that most of the students face a major dilemma for selecting their career after matric. He said that students were largely not aware of the field to choose in their lives due to which most of them get disarrayed adding that the main aim of organizing this mela was that students must be groomed in such a way that they contribute immensely in the socio-economic growth of the nation. Sharma expressed hope that this mela would be instrumental in giving right direction to the students who were on crossroads for choosing one stream or another as their profession. He also said that this mela would also help in fructifying Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh’s effort of Ghar Ghar Naukri.
On the occasion, the Chief guest along with the Deputy Commissioner and Additional Deputy Commissioner Jasbir Singh also felicitated the imminent personalities who had immensely contributed in making this mela a huge success.
