Modi government should take talks with farmers’ seriously, resolve issue without any delay:AAP
says government must accept 4-point agenda repealing the anti-farmer black laws
Chandigarh, December 29 (wishavwarta):-As the protesting farmers had accepted the Centre’s invitation for the sixth round of talks on Wednesday, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Punjab wants the deadlock to be resolved over the anti-farmer black laws. Reacting to the same, MLA and state kisan wing president Kultar Singh Sandhwan said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government should take the talks with the farmers’ organisations seriously. In a press statement issued from the party headquarters, Sandhwan said that the centre government should take steps towards resolving the deadlock over the black laws and listen to the legitimate demands of the farmers at the earliest.
“The government should immediately accept the 4-point agenda proposed by the farmers. The previous round of talks with the government had failed to yield any result as the central government was unmoved by the pitiable plight of the farming fraternity,” he said. Sandhwan said that the new agricultural black laws introduced by PM Modi-led centre government was not only anti-farmer but also against the poor, middle class and small traders of the country, who would be the most hit among all. He said AAP stands shoulder to shoulder with the farmers in their struggle and wants the government to make serious efforts to address their reasonable concerns.
He further said that today when the farmers of the country were agitating for their rights on the Delhi borders, PM Modi was acting as a mediator of corporate houses. Sandhwan said that the Modi government should abandon its stubborn stance and accede to the demands of the struggling farmers. He said that the Modi government was ‘sleeping over’ the issue of anti-farmers black laws, and it was a high time for the government to redress the demands. Sandhwan further said that the government had cut off its hands to benefit the capitalists and should not sacrifice the farmers, poor, middle class and small traders of the country for their personal interest
