Mann says, Modi Govt has completely destroyed Indian economy

Chandigarh, 26 Septemeber(Wishav Warta): Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Punjab, president Bhagwant Mann criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) government at the centre for completely destroying and derailing the Indian economy.

Mann stated in a press statement, it is obvious now that in order to benefit a handful of big corporate houses and multinational companies Modi government has unilaterally & arbitrarily taken some most ridiculous decisions which have further ruined the economy and lives of the poor people.

Modi has failed to provide two crore jobs to the unemployed youth in one year which the BJP promised before coming to power in 2014. Rather Modi’s senseless decision of demonetization has proved disastrous for the country and left Lakhs of gainfully employed people absolutely jobless.

Mann said while the people of India have still not recovered from the onslaught of demonetisation Modi government hurriedly introduced GST without making any preparation for its effective implementation.

” As a result businesses of a large number of the trading community in India have come to a grinding halt. ” Modi has truly succeeded in making the business community completely ‘cashless’ as they have left little money in their pockets”, quipped Mann.

Mann said according to the latest reports due to the anti people policies of the Modi government the business community is facing a severe cash crunch in the market. They have no money to buy the raw material and pay daily wages to the labourers. Besides the traders are reeling under Modi government’s failure to refund crores of rupees in time which it had taken in the form of various taxes.

Mann while criticising Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh said though the latter invariably held the centre government responsible for all economic vows but he very well knew about the state governments’ fiscal health before forming the government in the state.

Mann said before writing yet another letter to the union government Capt Amarinder should first give some financial relief from six to nine percent to the farmers, traders and the consumers from the additional revenue the state has generated on account of five to 18 percent GST.  Mann also emphasised on the need for the Capt Amarinder government to immediately provide the excise and VAT refunds amounting  to Rs. 300 crore to the trader and business community of Punjab.
