Chennai, 21 September(Wishav Warta): Tamil film superstar Kamal Haasan on Thursday signed up Aam Aadmi Party chief and Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal as his mentor and guide in fighting communalism and corruption in the country, amid another indication that the veteran actor may join politics soon.
The AAP leader sat for a working lunch for nearly an hour with the 62-year-old actor at his Eldams Road residence in Alwarpet area of Chennai and addressed the media together.
Haasan said he was honoured by Kejriwal’s visit and his endeavour was to seek advice from anyone fighting against communalism and corruption.
“Kejriwal has a national image as a fighter against corruption and communalism. And for me it is a learning curve, meeting him and discussing national and state politics and a wide range of issues,” Haasan said after a brief photo session.
Kejriwal said he was a fan of Haasan the actor, as well as the man, who he said, has “tremendous integrity and courage”.
“We are at this point of time in the country when it is facing strong forces of communalism and corruption and it is important that like-minded people speak to each other on these issues and work in tandem,” Kejriwal said adding it was a very fruitful meeting and he exchanged few ideas with the superstar.
