Jalandhar, 21 August(Wishav Warta): Batting for sustained extra – curricular activities for school going students, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that it would help in giving wings to the creativity amongst the students. Addressing the gathering during prize distribution function for National Painting Competition organized by the District Child Welfare Council here today, the Deputy Commissioner said that it was all the more important for overall development of the students. He said that such competitions break the monotony of school education amongst the students and inspire them to excel in varied fields of Art and culture. Mr .Sharma said this was it assumes significance as the tender minds of students could outshine in their life if they were given adequate platform at early life to exhibit their talent.
The Deputy Commissioner further said that the role of education should not be confined only upto academic field only but it should aim at holistic development of the students. He said that in the current scenario of globalization the creativity and imagination of the students must be encouraged so that they could compete with their peers at international level. Appreciating the students for making beautiful paintings, Mr. Sharma said that all out efforts would be made to recognize the efforts of these ‘little painters.
On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner also gave away the prizes to the students winning the competition. Meanwhile, the organizers of the event Mrs. Promil Dada, Mrs. Meena Sondhi, Mrs. Ranjana Bansal, Mrs. Veenu Kamboj, Mrs. Simran Kalsi and Secretary Red Cross Mr. Paramjeet Singh felicitated the Deputy
