New Delhi, 26 September(Wishav Warta): Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim’s close aide Honeypreet Insan has moved to Delhi High Court for anticipatory bail in a case registered against her in Panchkula. Priyanka Taneja alias Honeypreet, the adopted daughter of the jailed Dera chief, tops the list of 43 persons ‘wanted’ by the Haryana Police in connection with incidents of violence that had followed Ram Rahim’s conviction in the rape cases. Earlier, a lookout notice was issued against Honeypreet by the police.
Her lawyer Pradeep Arya said that Honeypreet was in Delhi on Monday. She came to his office. He said, that they have filed the anticipatory bail petition in the Delhi High Court and the matter would be mentioned before a bench headed by Acting Chief Justice Gita Mittal for early hearing. On the other hand, Several teams of Haryana Police have travelled across the country, including the Indo-Nepal border, to trace the whereabouts of Honeypreet but failed to trace her. This will be a big disappointment for Haryana Police if Honeypreet gets bail as she was hiding under their nose somewhere in Delhi.
Haryana Police team has conducted a raid at a house in Greater Kailash part-2 in Delhi but failed to find her. An arrest warrant has been issued on the names of Honeypreet, Aditya Insan and Pawan Insan, they will be declared proclaimed offenders by end of October if not arrested
