Jalandhar, 4 September(Wishav Warta): Election Commission of India has announced the schedule for special summary revision of Photoelectoral roll by fixing the January 1, 2018 as qualifying date. Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Electoral Officer Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the Commission has approved the calendar of pro-revision activity of draft publication of photo electoral rolls. He said that the draft publication of electoral rolls would take place on October 3, 2017 and claims and objections to be filed from October 3 to November 2. He also said that on October 7 and 14 (both Saturday ) the reading of relevant part section of photo Electoral rolls in gram Shaba , Local
bodies would be held for verification of names. Besides that on October 8 and 15 (Both Sunday) special camps will both level agents of political parties would be organized for receiving claims and objections.
He further said that all claims and objection would be disposed of till December 01, 2017 and from December 5 to 20. Updating of data base and printing of supplementary list would be made. The Electoral rolls would be published on January 8, 2018.
He said that the all Electoral officers have been directed to conduct meeting with leaders of political parties to aware them about the revision of Electoral rolls.
