Chandigarh, December 11: The Punjab State Commission for Protection of Child Rights has in a letter instructed the Director General of Police and the Chief Secretary to ensure that in the event of a protest/demonstration barricades must be erected on a side so as to make way for the buses carrying school children as well as the ambulances thus ensuring their safety and security.
Disclosing this here today, Sukesh Kalia, Chairman of the commission said that commission has noticed that in the event of Political, Social and religious sit-ins/demonstration etc., traffic is halted which also consists of school buses carrying small school children thus causing lot of harassment and inconvenience to them and their condition is aggravated in the extremes of weather.
