New Delhi: Two alleged operatives of the Islamic State in Jammu & Kashmir (ISJK) have been arrested in Delhi by the special cell, police said Friday.
While the police are set to hold a press conference on the arrests later in the day, sources said the two suspects are residents of Kashmir’s Shopian. They have been identified as Parwez Rashid and Jamshed Jahoor.
Police sources said one of their relatives was killed in an encounter earlier.
The ISJK is allegedly a relatively new outfit owing an allegiance to IS. The two men have been booked under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act.
While information on the timing and circumstances of their arrest and their involvement in illegal activities is awaited, sources said the two were caught near Kashmere Gate.
