Jalandhar (Wishav Warta): In order to give further impetus to the employment generation in the state for fulfilling the promise of ‘Ghar Ghar Naukri’, the Punjab government has decided to constitute District level Governing Council of District Employment and Training Bureau under the chairmanship of the Deputy Commissioners.
As per the orders of the state government, the committee would be headed by the Deputy Commissioners whereas Additional Deputy Commissioner would be its Vice Chairperson and Deputy Director Employment Generation and Training would be its Member Secretary. The other members of the Council include eminent educationalists, bankers, industrialists and representatives of the various government departments and public undertakings. The council has been mandated with the task of effectively monitoring the working of the Bureau besides ensuring proper implementation of the government policies to open vistas of employment for the jobless youth.
Pertinently, District Employment Generation and Training bureau was a step further to fulfill the promise of Ghar-Ghar naukri made by the state government led by Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. The bureau would focus on facilitating the youth to get jobs besides acting as a catalyst in helping the skilled youth to get self reliant by opening their own ventures. The Bureau would apprise the youth about the various schemes being offered by the state government, so that the skilled youth could avail the benefits of those schemes for starting their own businesses. Various government departments who were working for generating jobs for the youth would be housed in this Bureau to facilitate the youth. The bureau has set the wheels of the state government in motion to provide maximum employment opportunities to the youth.
