Phillaur (Jalandhar), January 23: In a step further towards providing citizen centric services to people in a smooth and hassle free manner, the Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Mr. Varinder Kumar Sharma today conducted checking in the various offices of the state government in Phillaur Sub Division.
The Deputy Commissioner, who spent around two hours in the various offices, asked the concerned officers to ensure that people do not face any sort of difficulty in getting their routine administrative works done. He said that the inspection was aimed at removing shortcomings, if any, the working of government offices besides streamlining their work. Sharma said that this inspection was a supportive supervision to functioning of the various departments and was not aimed at fault finding.
During the inspection at office of Sub Divisional Magistrate, the Deputy Commissioner laid thrust on proper upkeep of all the important registers of the office. Similarly, during the inspection in office of Sub Registrar Phillaur, Sharma checked the catalogue register, stamp duty register, parcha register, stock register, will deed register, cash book and others. He asked the Sub Registrar to ensure that there was no pendency of any sort in the office.
Underlining the need to benefit residents from the citizen centric decisions and services introduced by the state government during the checking of office of EO Municipal Council and Block Development and Panchayat Officer, the Deputy Commissioner said that the officers must ensure that people do not face any sort of problem for getting their day-to-day administrative work done.
Meanwhile, during the inspection at Treasury office in Phillaur, Sharma said that proper rules and procedures must be followed during the functioning of this key department of the administration. He categorically said that any sort of undue delay in passing of bills would not be tolerated at any cost. Sharma asked the officers to follow the book and make concerted efforts for facilitating the people.
The Deputy Commissioner personally inspected the token registers, pension registers, GPF files and other registers and gave necessary directions to the officer for ensuring the early disposal of works. Sharma said that the state government was committed to provide smooth and hassle free administrative services to the people and no laxity of any sort would be tolerated in the functioning of this key department. He also inspected the strong room in the Treasury office and took the stock of entire mechanism for ensuring its security besides inspecting record of sales of stamp paper and Revenue stamps.
