New Delhi: A day after CBSE announced re-examinations of Class 10 and 12 papers following reports of paper leak, Delhi Police on Thursday said that 25 people have been questioned so far, including a private tutor who is believed to be the main suspect in the case.
In a press conference, RP Upadhyay, Special CP, Delhi, said that the police have registered two cases and also formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe the matter.
“The police have questioned a total of 25 people in connection with the case. However, no arrests have been made so far,” he added. The 25 people arrested include 18 students and five tutors.
Upadhyay also said that both the papers were leaked a day before the exam on WhatsApp.
“We have no information that this leakage is pan-India but if such a thing emerges, we will send teams outside Delhi,” he added.
The Delhi Police also questioned the owner of a coaching centre in Rajender Nagar whose name was shared by the Central Board of Secondary Education in their complaint and who is suspected to be behind the alleged leak of Class 12 economics paper. The owner of the coaching centre, a Delhi University graduate, used to teach mathematics and economics. He is one of the main suspects, said an official privy to the probe.
The official said they have not yet found any clue that points to the involvement of any CBSE official in the matter.
