New Delhi: As Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrives in India on Saturday, bilateral engagements in New Delhi are not the only things on his list. The PM, who is on a seven-day visit to India along with his family, is scheduled to visit Taj Mahal, Golden Temple, Akshardham temple in Gujarat and Jama Masjid in Delhi.
“Wheels up for India and a busy visit, focused on creating good jobs and strengthening the deep connection between the people of our two countries”, tweets Trudeau
With an estimated 1.4 million Indian-origin people staying in Canada, Trudeau’s visit to monuments and places of cultural importance could help him boost his outreach among Indians in his country.
During the weeklong sojourn, Trudeau will be accompanied by six ministers, including all four Sikh members — Navdeep Bains, Bardish Chhagar, Amarjit Sohi and Harjit Sajjan. MPs and business delegations would separately be in India.
