Leader of Opposition, Sukhpal Singh Khaira slams government for the closure of Bathinda and two units of Ropar thermal plant. He said the government is lying over the figures of thermal plants where I have come to know that electricity is produced at the expenses of Rs 3.90 per unit. But Congress state president Sunil Jakhar claims it to be around Rs 11, he said. He said during SAD-BJP regime Sukhbir established private plants in which all the politicians have shares. Congress promised during polls that they will conduct a review of the power contracts, but nothing has been done in past eight months by the government. Congress promised in its poll manifesto that “Har Ghar Naukri”(employment to every house) but by closing down the thermal units they are taking away jobs from the people.
