New Delhi: Punjab Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLAs Kultar Sing Sandhwan and Amarjit Singh Sandoa have returned back to India. Both of them claimed that they were not deported or sent back but they flew back to Delhi on their own.
Earlier it was reported that both were asked to return back by airport authorities at Ottawa airport. Sandhwan and Sandoa were detained at the airport for questioning following complaint made to the Canadian immigration authorities by some detractors within AAP.
Sandoa was detained for questioning as the complaint was made against him about some criminal cases pending in the court in Punjab. It is learnt that both had declared the purpose of their visit to Canada as personal. But when questioned they said they were here for party-related activities.
Sandhwan was also detained later as it has been learnt that he was cleared at the immigration check but he entered into an argument with the immigration authorities as Sandoa was held back.
As both failed to satisfy the authorities as they made contradictory statements before them. So, both were ordered to fly back to India from the airport itself.
