Bengaluru, 16 August(Wishav Warta): AICC Vice-President Rahul Gandhi inaugurated first ‘Indira Canteen’ at Kanakanapalya of Jayanagar in South Bengaluru on Wednesday, which doles out food to masses at concessional rates. This is Rahul’s Second visit to Karnataka within a week.
It is one of the 198 canteens that will be opened in all wards of Bengaluru. In the first phase, 101 canteens will be made open to the public on Wednesday.In these canteens, breakfast will be served at Rs 5 per plate and Rs 10 for meals during afternoon and night.
The government wants to reach out to the poor and the downtrodden people of the state by Indira Canteen said Karnataka Congress secretary Madhu Yashki Goud. “Demonetization has left a huge impact on the poor people, who are now not able to get two square meals a day. Through the Indira Canteen, which is the flagship program of Karnataka CM Siddara maiah, people will be able to get a good meal.
