Srinagar, December 25(Wishav Warta): Srinagar city recorded the coldest night of this winter as the minimum temperature dipped to minus 4.2 degrees Celsius even as the rest of the Kashmir Valley reeled under sub-zero temperatures.
Leh, in the Ladakh region, was the coldest recorded place in the state last night as the minimum temperature settled at minus 8.0 degrees Celsius, followed by nearby Kargil town recording minus 7.1 degrees Celsius, according to Meteorological Department. A dense fog engulfed the city and some other parts of the valley early in the morning as the visibility dropped to less than 300 metres.
