New Delhi, December 24: The Delhi Sikh Gurudwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has constructed temporary shelter homes for the homeless at Kashmiri gate ISBT to save from the homeless from chilling weather conditions. This development has come after the DSGMC General Secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa along with Manoj Tiwari BJP Delhi Presidents and Kapil Mishra took to reality checks at Yamuna Bazaar, ISBT, Geeta Ghat etc on the intervening night of Friday-Saturday.
Manjinder Singh Sirsa disclosed that when they visited these places where the homeless were forced to spend nights in open and were shivering due to extreme cold conditions, the DSGMC immediately decided to construct temporary shelter homes at places where they are now living under the bridges and other places. He said that the DSGMC had deputed its staff and volunteers to get these shelter homes ready by using tents and other materials and with the grace of god these were ready within 20 hours and by the evening of Saturday. He said that if the DSGMC can construct such shelter homes swiftly what was stopping the AAP government from doing so.
The Delhi MLA also said that the AAP government has miserably failed to provide shelters to these homeless people though it has raised the budge for the same. He also disclosed that DUSIB has now started constructed and installation of such shelter homes after the DSGMC has started the campaign for the same. The DSGMC has provided these homelss people with the langar and medical facilities apart from arranging blankets and quilts for them. He said that we were pained to see that these people were sleeing along the dogs and other animals on the roadsides.
The DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK and Sirsa also said that they will continue to work for the welfare of humanity and was thankful to almighty who bestowed them this sewa. They said that though it was job of the Delhi Government to save these homeless people from inclement weather conditions but the DSGMC has started working after the AAP government failed to keep with it constitutional obligations.
The DSGMC President Manjit Singh GK also said that that the DSGMC will construct as many shelter homes required for the people of the Delhi. He said that when the volunteers of the DSGMC were doing sewa in different places of the world how can we lag behind in case of Delhi. He said that it was most unfortunate that more than 100 persons have died because of inclement weather conditions and poor apathy of the AAP government. He said that now onwards the DSGMC will do everything to save precious human lives in Delhi.
