Jalandhar: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today said that zero tolerance would be adopted towards the officers/ officials for any sort of inordinate delay in providing the benefits to people under the Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY).

Presiding over a review meeting to organize special village level mega camps to ensure that people get the facilities under the MGSVY, the Deputy Commissioner said that the basic motive of the scheme was to ensure that villagers were able to avail the benefits of the various pro-people schemes of the state government. He said that any sort of callousness on part of the officers/ officials in this regard was totally unwarranted and undesirable. Sharma said that complete accountability of the officers/ officials would be ensured during the camps.

The Deputy Commissioner said that these camps would ensure that the residents of all the 900 villages of the district could get the benefit of this scheme. He said that detailed program of holding these camps would be soon chalked out by the district administration.

The Deputy Commissioner said that these camps would ensure that people get the benefit of the schemes of the state government at their doorsteps that too under a same roof. Sharma said that all the key departments of the state government including Health and Family Welfare, Social Security, Agriculture, Cooperative, Employment Generation and others would be roped in to make these camps a huge success. He said that these camps could ensure that more and more number of people avail the benefits of the pro-poor schemes of the state government.

The Deputy Commissioner said that a joint team of all the departments must undertake a pre-camp survey in the villages selected under a cluster for holding the camps. He said that during this survey the identification of all the eligible beneficiaries of the schemes should be identified. Likewise, Sharma said that Panchayat Secretaries must identify the new development works to be carried out in the village and the Health department must organize health check up camps for the villagers.
