Chandigarh: Leader of Opposition Sikhpal Singh Khaira in a statement released here today expressed shock and surprise at Capt. Amarinder Singh’s adamant and autocratic behavior for failing to act against Bikram Majithia, Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, despite startling allegations of their deep connections with drug mafia.
Khaira lambasted the Chief Minister for trying to intimidate and browbeat whistle blowers like DGP Chattopadhaya on the pretext of indiscipline. Khaira said instead of ordering an inquiry or taking action against Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta, Capt. Amarinder Singh is trying to gag the voice of DGP Chattopadhaya in the name of indiscipline.
Khaira said going to the Hon’ble High Court to seek protection for his false implication in the Inderpreet Chadha suicide case is no indiscipline, the Punjab and Haryana High Court is the rightful constitutional institution for justice. Khaira said since DGP Chattopadhaya was appointed by the High Court to verify the role of Raj Jit Singh SSP Moga in the ASI Inderjit Singh drug operations, thus he is very much within his legal right to report the connections of Arora, Gupta and Raj Jit Singh with drug mafia to the Hon’ble High Court, which cannot be construed as act of indiscipline.
Similarly Khaira said he failed to understand why Capt. Amarinder Singh is not initiating an inquiry against Bikram Majithia, despite clinching evidence against him by the STF in High Court for facilitating supply of drugs to Canadian drug lords like Satpreet Singh ‘Satta’ and Parminder Singh ‘Pinki’. Khaira said Capt. has also turned a complete blind eye on the pleas of 40 Congress MLA’s seeking action against him.
Khaira criticized Capt. Amarinder Singh for adopting double standards by taking action selectively. He said while he was being targeted by Capt. Amarinder Singh in a maliciously false and frivolous drugs case, merely on the basis of three years old call records, he’s willfully turning a complete blind eye to blatant and factual connections of Majithia, Arora and Gupta with drug mafia and unwilling to take any concrete action against them.
Khaira said by not imitating any inquiry against Majithia, Arora and Gupta, Capt. Amarinder Singh is once again demonstrating that there’s complete understanding between him and the Badals when it comes to drugs or corruption.
Khaira also took to task Sukhbir Badal for maintaining a stoic silence over the expose of DGP Arora’s connections with drug cartels. Khaira said it appears that since Mr. Arora is a common DGP of both the Congress and Akali Dal, thus Sukhbir Badal prefers to support his misdeeds and maintain complete silence on the issue.
Khaira reiterated his demand for a High Court monitored CBI inquiry against Bikram Majithia, Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta to unravel and expose those trying to destroy the future of youth of Punjab. At the same time Khaira warned Capt. Amarinder Singh to desist from issuing pre meditated clean chits to his DGP’s Suresh Arora and Dinkar Gupta like he did in the case of tainted Ex Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh, who ultimately had to resign for his misdeeds.
Khaira questioned Capt. Amarinder Singh, was this the way you had vowed to end drugs in four weeks under oath of ‘Gutka Sahib’ prior to elections.
