Chandigarh: The co-president of Aam Aadmi Party and MLA from Sunam, Aman Arora has written a letter to the Punjab chief minister Captain Amarinder Singh welcoming his decision to contest Vidhan Sabha elections in 2022. “While wishing you a healthy & long life, I as a concerned citizen of Punjab welcome your decision with a hope that your non serious behavior and lax attitude that displayed in last 8 months of government formation that will change just with the intent to capture power in 2022. It may force you to improve your functioning to run the state which has been till now very disappointing. Your greed to grab power might incuse your energy and interest which was clearly seen before this election. Wherein you have taken a u-turn on every promise of your, taking a u-turn on contesting elections in 2022 has also not surprised me.” wrote Arora.
Suggesting him to be present in the state affairs for the betterment of Punjab rather than dreaming about being CM again in next Vidhan Sabha elections, Arora said that it is bad to know that chief minister has visited his state for just 3-4 times in last 8 months. He said that the decision of Captain Amarinder Singh to fight 2022 vidhan Sabha elections is his personal choice and prerogative but the leader must deliver before expecting another term from the voters. He said that the decision has proved that he is no different from majority of political leaders who never want to part ways with power and chair for their self interests.
In his letter, Arora said that the congress government is shying away from fulfilling its poll promises and every section of society is feeling cheated from the government. He suggested the CM that congress government must take action against the mafia that had looted the state during Akali government as he promised before the elections. The AAP leader said that due to the absence of chief minister from state, the issues related to farmers loan waver, employment to every household and taking action against drug dealers in state, dwindling economy, shattered business atmosphere, never seen before law and order situation and many more are have taken a back seat. The leaders of congress have taken over the control of every mafia in state in place of Akalis.
Taking note of Capt’s denial to meet Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal, Arora said that Capt’s decision for re-run might make him feel of need of meeting his counterparts of other states, his own MP’s and MLA’s, protesting Anganwadi workers and many more to which the CM has not even felt the need to pay any heed in the last 8 months and people of the state may get a chance to see him more often in the state which has happened just 2-3 times in the last 8 months.
Arora said that Capt’s decision to contest next election is a positive sign in a way as he has to fulfill his promises made to the people of Punjab before going to them for votes next time. He hoped that the CM would start taking the issues related to state and work in the direction to fulfill promises made in the election manifesto.
