Chandigarh, January 24: State Vigilance Bureau, during its ongoing campaign against corruption today nabbed a Doctor and two Revenue Patwaris alongwith their agents red handed while accepting bribes in three different cases.
Disclosing this here an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau said Doctor Gurbinder Singh posted at Civil Hospital Majitha, Amritsar was arrested red handed on the complaint of Sukhdev Singh of Majitha, Amritsar district . The Complainant has approached the VB that the accused was demanding Rs. 25000 for helping him to prepare favorable Medico Legal Report (MLR) of his brother regarding a dispute case.
After verifying his information, the Vigilance team laid a trap and the accused doctor arrested on the spot while accepting bribe of Rs.25000 from the complainant in the presence of two official witnesses
In another bribery case, a revenue Patwari Prem Kumar and a private man Kanwaljeet Singh were caught red handed accepting bribe of Rs. 6,000/-.
He said that the Patwari Prem Kumar posted at halqa Garbi, Tehsil Batala, Gurdaspur and a private man Kanwaljeet Singh were arrested on the complaint of Joginder Singh of Shanti Nagar, Batala, Gurdaspur. The complainant has has approached the VB that above said accused were demanding Rs. 6000 for mutation of his father’s land.
After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused were arrested and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.
Likewise, a revenue Patwari Mohan Singh posted at Bhamian Kalan, Ludhiana district and a private man Lakhdeep Singh were caught red handed for accepting bribe of Rs. 5,000/-
He said that the Patwari Mohan Singh and a private person Lakhdeep Singh were arrested on the complaint of Vajinder Kumar of Rajiv Gandhi Colony, Ludhiana city. The complainant has approached the VB that above said accused were demanding Rs. 10,000 for correction in revenue record.
After verifying his complaint the VB team laid a trap and the accused were arrested and tainted money was recovered from him in the presence of two official witnesses.
He informed that cases under Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against all the above said accused at VB police station Amritsar and Ludhiana respectively and further investigations were under progress.
