Fazilka, January 17 (): Preeti and Pooja want to be a doctor while Reema wants to be a Hindi teacher, but if somebody visits their huts in the slum area of town, one cannot hope that they could even complete their metric as they are living in the darkness of Poverty. But now Deputy Commissioner of Fazilka, Isha Kalia, I.A.S. has taken a new initiative to fulfill the big dreams of such children. Some teachers, like Raman Khurana, have also come forward to contribute to this noble cause.
Deputy Commissioner brought a new hope for these Children on the first day of this New Year. With her initiative a special school started in grain market of Fazilka which runs from 3:30 pm to 5 pm daily for such children, where Raman Khurana and some of his fellow teachers and B.Ed. Students are teaching them to make their big dreams come true.
While talking about the project Deputy Commissioner Isha Kalia said that there is no appropriate environment in their homes for education as no one is educated in their families so when these children come home from school, they do not get any educational environment at home. “So this school is run in the evening to provide education to these students,” she added. She said here we are providing coaching as per their school syllabus as well as we are providing moral education to these children so they can face the challenges of life. Without this, continuous enthusiastic activities are also being organized for these children.
Today the Deputy Commissioner spent some time with these children and assured them that the district administration would help every child to fulfill their dreams. She also announced to show retreat ceremony at Sadqi Boarder to these students at this weekend.
