Jalandhar, January 17-: Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma today exhorted the students from Schedule Caste (SC) and Other Backward Class (OBC) community to avail the special chance given by Punjab government to apply for availing the benefits under the post matric scholarship scheme for year 2017-18. Divulging the details, the Deputy Commissioner said that in a big relief to the SC and OBC students the state government has decided to give a special chance to them for applying for the scheme, for which the portal would be reopened on prescribed dates. He said that students could apply for the scholarship on this portal from January 22-25.
Likewise, Sharma said that for Educational Institutions, the Portal would remain open from January 26-29 whereas for Sanctioning Authority it would be open from January 30 to February 2. Similarly, he said that for Line Department the portal would be open from February 3-6. The Deputy Commissioner said that after the stipulated time period the portal for every section would be closed by the NIC. He said that the students desirous of availing this scheme must upload scanned copy of his/ her attendance sheet certified by the head of the Educational Institute.
Sharma said that the remaining conditions for the submitting the application would be same as earlier. The Deputy Commissioner said that except those students who were pursuing MBBS or BDS Courses it would be mandatory to upload scanned copy of admit card/ registration card/ result of semester in which the student was studying. Similarly said that in an undertaking it would be verified that the student was studying in a particular organisation and his attendance was verified. Sharma said that the specimen of this would be sent to the welfare department by the NIC.
