Jalandhar: Speaker of Punjab assembly Rana KP Singh today underscored the need for imparting quality education to the students for ensuring the holistic progress of the society. Addressing the gathering here at Sant Baba Bhag Singh University today, the Speaker said that education was the key to ensure that large strata of society was benefitted from the policies of the state government. He said that need of the hour was to ensure that the remaining people could also get the benefits of quality education and contribute in socio-economic growth of the country.
Rana KP Singh said that affordable and quality education must be ensured to every section of society for ensuring balanced progress of country and prosperity of its people. The Speaker said that the country has progressed in several areas due to high quality of education.
However, he said that still a lot needs to be done especially in the field of rural sector. Rana KP Singh said that this would be only possible if more and more number of universities and colleges were opened in the rural sector. Lauding the management of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University in imparting quality education to the students of the area, the Speakar said that Sant Baba Bhag Singh Memorial Charitable society was doing the real service of society. He said that with the concerted efforts of such institutions the country would wiped out social maladies in terms of poverty, illiteracy and others to make India a front ranking country in the nation.
