Shahkot: Former home minister Brij Bhupinder Singh Lalli, who was on a polling booth at Malsian during the Shahkot bye-election has been taken into custody by the police. According to information received, Lalli went to the polling booth he took a pistol along with him inside the polling booth, after which he had a clash with the Congress workers and he was taken into custody along with his pistol by the deputed officials. SAD candidate Naib Singh Kohar has reached Malsian police station where Lali has been kept by police. He accused police of helping Congress in today’s poll process.
Brij Bhupinder Singh Lalli was elected MLA in 1992 and was nominated as Home Minister under that time government. Recently he left the Congress and joined the Akali Dal.
