Amritsar: Punjab Bhartiya Janata Party state executive member Rajinder Mohan Singh Chhina today said that the SAD-BJP alliance was one of the most strong political tie-ups in the country and any differences within the alliance is nothing but a figment of imagination by Congress. He said from time to time Congress leaders spread rumours that the alliance will break up but their hopes will never be realized.
Chhina who was addressing party’s public rally at border town Ajnala under the BJP’s rural outreach program, said the alliance between the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and the BJP in Punjab is not comparable to any other such alliances in the country. “This alliance has sailed through many turbulences and thus it is a time tested. There will never be a break up’’, said he while interacting with the select media persons of the area.
He said the Congress leaders sometime make baseless statements regarding the differences within the two political parties which is not true. He said senior BJP leaders including Arun Jaitley, national secretary of the party Tarun Chugh and state BJP head Shawet Malik have also stated at a number of times that there are no differences within the alliance. `The Congress fears the alliance most because of its strength and thus talks of its break up. This will never happen’’, said he adding that SAD and BJP have cordial ties whiuch are based on mutual trust and affection.
Chhina said Narnedra Modi-led NDA government in which SAD is part has made tremendous growth and economic consolidation in the last four years. The Modi’s rural oriented schemes including Jan Dhan Yojna, PM Awas Yojna, Ujaala and Bima schmes for poor strata of society has been boon for the rural people. He said the development of border and rural areas has always been the priority of the NDA government.
He meanwhile lashed out at the state’s Congress government under Capt Amarinder Singh for ignoring the vital issues of development, deteriorating law and order situation and rising corruption. “The Congress government has failed on all fronts and it failed to upkeep the promises made during the elections’’, said he.
BJP district (rural) head Ram Sharan, local leaders Anand Sharma Hardyal Singh, Parshotam Lal, Babbu Jasroor, Narinder Kaur, Baljinder Singh and others were present during the rally.
