Chandigarh, January 8(Wishav Warta): Punjab Irrigation and Power Minister Rana Gurjeet Singh will launch the Ujala Awareness campaign for Punjab on January 10 to promote the energy efficiency measures in the state.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesman of the Punjab Government said that Rana Gurjeet Singh would flag off 16 UJALA Vans as part of this awareness campaign from VIP Guest House, PSTCL, SAS Nagar at 10:00 A.M. after addressing a function organized here to mark this occasion. “These mobile vans are specially designed to reach each and every area of the region to promote UJALA LED bulbs, LED tube lights and energy efficient fans. These vans will have publicity material including details of distribution counters of EESL”, he added.
Highlighting the achievements of Ujala programme, Spokesman said that after the launch of Ujala scheme on May 24, 2017, Energy Efficiency Services Ltd (EESL) has distributed approximately 6.5 lakh LED bulbs, 45 thousand LED tube lights and 10 thousand energy efficient fans till date. Giving details regarding prices of products offered under EESL’s UJALA programme, he said that domestic grid connected users were getting LED bulbs, LED tube lights and energy efficient BEE 5 star rated fans through designated kiosks spread across 15 districts in Punjab. The price of one LED bulb is Rs. 70, the ceiling fans costs Rs. 1,110 and energy efficient LED tube light costs Rs. 220.
Spokesman further added that Balbir Singh Sidhu, MLA and Satish Chandra, Additional Chief Secretary Power would also address the function organized to kick start this awareness campaign, whereas Nitin Bhatt, Regional Manager (Punjab), EESL would brief on the UJALA awareness program and A. Venu Prasad, CMD, PSPCL would deliver vote of thanks.
