Chandigarh(Wishav Warta): A day ahead of Deepawali, Punjab Governor and Administrator UT Chandigarh V. P. Singh Badnore along with the first lady Alka Singh Badnore have extended heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people in general and the officers and employees of Raj Bhawan in particular.
In his greetings the Governor said, “the spiritual significance of Diwali symbolises the victory of light over darkness and victory of good over evil. The joyous occasion brings with it hope of better, brighter and prosperous tomorrow. It strengthens the bonds of trust, love and compassion among family members and friends. It is also the only annual occasion that we, the global Indian community, irrespective of our caste, creed religion and nationality, celebrate the idea of being Indian.
He urged the people to celebrate the festival of lights in the usual fervour and gaiety. He appealed all the employees to strengthen the bonds of mutual love and harmony within the Raj Bhawan and work with greater commitment and honesty. He hoped that the traditional festival of lights lead us together on the path of peace and social harmony.”
Addressing the officers of Punjab Raj Bhavan and all ranks of Security Forces, the Governor said, “Continuous vigil, dedication and supreme sacrifice of our Armed Forces on duty at the borders enables us and every countrymen to celebrate festivals and occasions of happiness. Let us all acknowledge their unparalleled service to the country at this festive occasion and dedicate this Diwali to our valiant soldiers.”
Earlier, a warm send off was also given to Dr. Jasgit Singh CMO Raj Bhawan on his superannuation. He served Punjab Raj Bhavan for 23 years. Later sweets were also distributed to all the employees of Raj Bhawan.
