Punjab Education Department ministerial staff holds state-level protest against Govt., halts traffic

Jalandhar, 10 October(Parteek Mahal): The Punjab Education Department Ministerial Staff(sub-office) association holds a state level protest against Punjab government. Acting on the resolution passed in Barnala meeting on 7 October, a rally was conducted at Desh Bhagat Yadgar hall followed by a march towards Deputy Commissioner office, all the staff members gathered at Jalandhar to protest against Punjab government, they halted traffic at BMC chowk while staging  Dharna over there. The Punjab Education board ministerial staff was on mass leave.

State president Pavneet Singh Sidhu blames educational secretary for having a harsh behaviour towards ministerial staff, he also uses the wrong language with the staff, he added. He said after giving appointments at many occasions Education Minister and Education Secretary never met them. They have issued a letter posting field staff out of their stations as a harassment and it should be taken back immediately. The association put forward many demands regarding staff in front of the department but they do not even have time to listen, due to this there is displeasure among staff. If government did not take any action after this association will sit on hunger strike from 13 October out of DPI office.
