Chandigarh: The heavy rain continues to lash Punjab on Monday after which Punjab government has issued an alert in the state.
The Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh will review the situation in a meeting with senior officers at 3 pm and further instruction will follow thereafter.
Leave of all irrigation and drainage staff cancelled. The army has been put on standby, as water levels rise in all dams. Sub-divisions of Dasuya, Tanda and Mukerian under threat.
All districts are to remain on constant vigil and Disaster Control Rooms to be activated. All officials are directed to remain standby. Hotspots to be identified with clear evacuation and relief plans ready. Equipment to drain out flood waters be kept handy.
Districts in catchment areas of three rivers should arrange enough boats to rescue affected people.
