Ludhiana: A constable of Punjab Police, Davinder Singh was shot at outside Dayanand Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), on Monday.
The victim is identified as Constable Davinder, who was shot in the thigh.
After the incident, the injured constable was immediately rushed to the hospital. His condition is said to be stable now.
Sukhchain Singh Gill, Commissioner of Police, Ludhiana and other senior police officers reached the hospital.
Police claim that the accused has been identified. The incident occurred in the morning when the constable was on duty near parking space outside the hospital. He suspected a person wearing a headscarf. While showing the presence of mind, he clicked the person’s photograph on his mobile.
While the constable caught the miscreant and was bringing him to the Police Post, the miscreant took out his weapon and shot the constable in his thigh before making his escape.
