Jalandhar: Jalandhar (Rural) police arrests one accused in rape and murder case on Tuesday. divulging details SSP rural Gurpreet Singh Bhullar said Inspector Shiv Kumar, In-charge CIA-II alongwith SI Surinder Singh, ASI Ajit Singh and ASI Harjinder Singh traced the case FIR No. 30 dated 05-03-2018 u/s 376/302 IPC, PS Goraya, district Jalandhar (Rural).
In order to race out the said case a team consisting of Sh. Balkar Singh, PPS, SP/Investigation In-charge CIA-I & In-charge CIA-II was constituted. In connection with investigation of the case, Inspr. Shiv Kumar alongwith his team conducted nakabandi in Barra Pind, Garha Road, a secret information was received by him that one Surinder Kumar s/o Brijen patel r/o Hari Nagar, district Betia, Bihar who is a potato digger labourer by profession at about 11:00 AM on the morning of Sunday took the victim girl to the sugarcane field and committed rape upon her and thereafter strangulated her to death. Inspector Shiv Kumar developed the information in professional manner and alongwith his team nabbed Surinder Kumar. During the preliminary investigation, the accused confessed about the crime committed by him. How the victim was tempted Accused Surinder Kumar was working as a labourer with the Poonam, mother of the victim and also use to visit her house. He was also known to the deceased. On the said day, the victim was playing outside her house. The accused reached there and tempted the victim on the pretext of giving her eatables and took her to the sugarcane field, where he firstly consumed liquor and then committed rape upon her and thereafter strangulated her to death.

Accused Surinder Kumar (Aged about 35 years) is living in village Barra Pind since last 04 years and is a labourer by profession. He is married and has 03 brothers and 02 sisters.
