Adampur: In a move aimed at empowering the people by providing them simple, convenient and transparent land registration services, the Punjab government would start the pilot project regarding online land registration from Adampur Sub Tehsil from November 15.
Divulging the details, Secretary Revenue Dr S Karunaraju, who was here to review the arrangements for launching of this pilot project, said that this project was the first in the country aimed at saving time, money and energy of the people. He said that the project was basically aimed at facilitating the people to get their land registered online. Dr S Karunaraju said that this was a revolutionary step, which would ensure the facility of registration of the land on their doorsteps.
The Secretary said that under this system a person has to just go online and fill the relevant information regarding his immovable asset on the website to apply for registration of land. He said that the rates of land fixed as per collector rates would be available online through the metric system. Dr S Karunaraju said that after completing the necessary formalities a person would have the facility of fixing the appointment with the Sub Registrar for the registration of land on the date of his choice, after which the registration would be finalized on that date.
The Secretary said that it was the most fair and transparent mechanism to ensure smooth, hassle free and convenient registration of land. He said that with the starting of this service people desirous of getting their land registered would be benefitted a lot. Dr. S Karunanraju said that once successful in the district this system would also be replicated across the state.
On the occasion, Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said that the trial run of this ambitious project would be held from November 10-14. He said that after the implementation, this project would prove to be boon for the residents in getting their land registered in a safe, prompt and fair manner. Mr. Sharma also said that the district administration has made all the arrangements for the launch of this project.
