People have lost faith in PM Modi, centre government attempts to give religious colour to farmers’ movement: AAP
Centre should come up with meaningful solution, not try to give wrong direction: Prof Baljinder Kaur
To benefit favourite corporate houses, centre brought agriculture black laws: Kulwant Singh Pandori
Chandigarh, January 9, 2021( Wishavwarta )Reacting to the centre’s government decision to rope in heads of religious sects in Punjab to break the impasse on the farm laws, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Saturday stated that Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led central government was now trying to suppress the farmers’ movement against the agriculture black laws, by attempting the intervention of religious leaders in order to give a wrong direction. In a joint statement released from party headquarters, senior leaders and MLA from Talwandi Sabo, Prof Baljinder Kaur and MLA from Mehal Kalan, Kulwant Singh Pandori said that the people had lost faith in Prime Minister Narendra Modi and that the centre government was trying to give religious colour to farmers’ movement.
They said that the Modi government was always an expert in giving a religious colour instead of resolving the issues of the people and now it was preparing to play the same game again. “PM Modi-led central government has introduced black laws for the benefit of its favourite corporate houses, which according to the farmers are ‘death warrants’,” they added. The leaders said that it was unfortunate that the ‘annadatas’ who feed the people of the country was fighting for their survival, with mothers, elders and small children, who had been in the severe cold on the Delhi borders for around last two months; while the ruthlessly insensitive Modi-led central government was unmoved by the pitiable plight of the farming fraternity.
“Instead of heeding the demands of the farmers, the centre government used various maneuvers to discredit the farmers’ struggle and when it did not succeed in any of the ploys, it is now trying to give it a religious colour, they added. The AAP leaders said that the Modi-led central government should have immediately repealed the three black laws, but was using all possible means to suppress the agitation. They said that the Modi government should take this movement seriously as it was not a movement of any one community but a movement of farmers, labourers and common people of the country. Considering the legitimate demands of the farmers, the government should immediately repeal all three black laws and the farmers should be given legal right to MSP on every crop, the leaders added.
