- MLA BERI OVERSEES PREPARATION OF THE EVENT, SAYS PROJECT WOULD BENEFIT THE ENTIRE CITY
Jalandhar, December 27( WISHAVWARTA)-In a major New Year bonanza for the city residents, the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh would commence the work on construction of Railway Over Bridge at Chuggiti-Ladhewali road Railway crossing at a cost of Rs 23.46 crore.
Divulging the details, MLA Jalandhar Central Mr. Rajinder Beri, with whose persistent efforts this ROB was becoming a reality, said that PWD Minister Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla would lay foundation stone of this project on Tuesday (December 29). Mr. Beri, who reviewed the arrangements for the event on the site, said that it was a long pending demand of people living on both sides of the Railway crossing and the construction of this ROB would give a huge reprieve to them. He said that as the volume of Railway traffic on this stretch was too much, so the Railway crossing was close for most of the hours in the day.
The MLA said that as a result of this, the area on both the sides of crossing usually used to be cut off from each other in most of the time. He said that residents had to face quagmire of problems during normal days and even at time of emergency. However, Mr. Beri said that with the construction of this ROB the residents would be facilitated a lot.
The MLA said that this ROB would be completed in a period of two years and would act as a catalyst in facilitating the people besides streamlining the road traffic in the adjoining areas of the city. He said that Captain Government was committed for the holistic development of the state besides welfare and progress of its people. Mr. Beri said that Captain Government was leaving no stone unturned for this noble cause.
