Khalsa Hockey Academy Team Beats Goa in Delhi

Amritsar, 6 October(Wishav Warta): The Khalsa Hockey Academy’s juinior team from Khalsa College Girls Senior Secondary School today routed Goa with 20-0 goals in the ongoing All India Nehru Hockey tournament at Delhi in the first match. The girls continued their winning onslaught and defeated Jharkhand with 8-0 score in the second match today at the national capital.

Sports Director of the Academy Dr. Kanwaljit Singh said in the third match the emerging hockey stars defeated Sports Authority of India team Chandigarh with a margin of 7-2.He said the semi final match is scheduled with hockey academy of India at Sonipat tomorrow.

Khalsa College Governing Council honourary secretary RMS Chhina congratulated the team and said they have established the hockey academy recently and have engaged Daronacharya awardee Baldev Singh as the chief coach of the academy. This is the first national level outing of the team in which they have performed so well today, said Chhina
