Jalandhar(Wishav Warta): The Jalandhar Commissionerate Police today busted a gang of snatchers with the arrest of three persons involved in 53 incidents of snatching in Jalandhar and Kapurthala districts.
Divulging the details, Deputy Commissioner of Police Gurmeet Singh, while interacting with the media persons, said that during checking at Nangal Lohara Chowk the Police party led by Assistant Sub Inspector Mr. Simarjeet Singh spotted three youth coming on two motorcycles. He said that when the Police party signaled them to stop for checking they took U turn to run away adding that the fleeing youth were however nabbed by the Police. Gurmeet Singh said that during the investigation the Police party recovered seven mobile phones of different companies, gold ornaments and Rs 4800 cash from them.
The Deputy Commissioner of Police said that the accused identified as Pankaj s/o late Surinderpal, Baljinder Ratti alias Bunty s/o Kuldeep Kumar and Sandeep Kumar alias Seepa s/o Surinderpal, revealed that they have been involved in 53 incidents of snatching in Jalandhar and Kapurthala district. He said that a without number Splendor Motorcycle along with Pulsar Motorcycle Number PB 08 BS 8010 and Hero Honda Passion Motorcycle Number PB 08 AS 1855 have been recovered from them. Mr. Gurmeet Singh said that a FIR number 161 under section 379-B, 411 and 34 of Indian Penal Code has been registered against the accused adding that further investigations in the case were going on.
